Mold Testing FAQs
How do I know if I have mold?
Signs of mold include:
- Musty or earthy odors
- Visible staining or discoloration on walls, ceilings, or floors
- Worsening allergy symptoms indoors
- A history of leaks or water damage
Because mold can also grow behind walls or under flooring, air sampling and moisture detection are often required to confirm its presence.
How does mold testing work?
We perform a visual inspection, take air samples and/or surface swabs, and measure moisture and humidity levels in key areas. Samples are sent to a certified lab that identifies the types and concentrations of mold present.
How long does mold testing take?
The on-site inspection and sample collection usually take 1 to 2 hours. Lab results are typically available within 2 to 6 business days, depending on the number of samples collected.
Can you detect black mold?
Yes. We test for Stachybotrys Chaetomium, commonly known as black mold, along with other harmful molds like Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Cladosporium.
Do I need mold testing even if I can’t see mold?

Indoor Allergy Testing FAQs
What do you test for in allergen assessments?
We test for common indoor allergens, including:
Dust mites
Pet dander
Mold spores
Pollen
VOC-related irritants
Mildew and bacterial fragments
These allergens are sampled from the air and surfaces and analyzed in a lab to identify exposure levels
Who should get indoor allergy testing?
Our testing is ideal for:
People with asthma or chronic allergies
Households with young children or elderly family members
Pet owners
Tenants or landlords dealing with allergen disputes
Individuals experiencing unexplained fatigue or respiratory symptoms indoors
Will this testing help reduce my symptoms?
While we don’t treat symptoms directly, our testing helps identify specific indoor triggers. Once you know what you’re reacting to, you can make targeted changes—like using HEPA filters, removing certain materials, or scheduling professional cleaning or sanitization.
VOC & Air Quality Questions
What do you test for in allergen assessments?
VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are chemical gases emitted from everyday items like furniture, flooring, cleaning products, and paints. Long-term exposure to high VOC levels can lead to:
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Respiratory irritation
- Fatigue or confusion
We offer VOC testing to detect and help reduce indoor chemical exposure.
How is air quality testing different from mold testing?
Air quality testing is a broader evaluation that may include:
- VOC sampling
- Allergen detection
- Airborne mold spore analysis
- Humidity and temperature measurements
- General contaminant identification
Mold testing focuses specifically on detecting and identifying fungal spores in the air and on surfaces.
Air Quality Sanitization FAQs
What is air quality sanitization?
It’s the process of disinfecting indoor air to reduce airborne contaminants like mold spores, bacteria, and residual odors. We use safe, EPA-registered misting agents that reach into vents, furniture, and hard-to-access areas.
When should I consider air sanitization?
We recommend it:
- After mold remediation
- Following indoor illness
- When moving into a new space
- After experiencing flood or water damage
- As part of seasonal allergy management
- It’s especially helpful for landlords, property managers, or anyone wanting a clean, refreshed indoor environment
Is sanitization safe for kids and pets?
Yes. The products we use are low-toxicity, non-corrosive, and safe once dry. Occupants typically return to treated areas within a few hours.
